What’s most important now is to take the right steps calmly—in most cases, a school iPad can be repaired. Remain calm and do not continue to use the iPad.
If the glass is broken, fine splinters may come loose, and any pressure on the cracked display can worsen the damage. Turn off the iPad, cover large cracks with clear tape if necessary, and place it in a protective case. If the device has become wet, do not charge it.
Review school and usage agreement
Some school iPads belong to the school or the school authority, while others were purchased privately and are only managed by the school. Whether you are allowed to have the device repaired privately is governed by your school's user agreement – when in doubt, ask there before placing an order.

How much does the repair cost?
The exact price depends on the model and the damage. Replacing a display on a newer iPad costs more than replacing a battery on an older model. In the configurator, you select your iPad and the repair to see the price for your device before you place an order – free of charge and without registration.
If it is unclear what exactly is broken, for example if the iPad no longer turns on, we will check it first and let you know what is possible. We provide a 12-month warranty on every repair for the replaced part and the labor performed.
Typical damage to school iPads includes a cracked screen, a battery that no longer lasts through the school day, and a charging port that no longer holds the cable securely. In older iPads, the glass is separate from the screen and can often be replaced individually. In newer models, the glass and screen are firmly bonded, in which case the entire display unit is replaced. The configurator will show you which repairs are available for your model.

It costs €29.95 and will be credited if you proceed with the repair. It is best to have the model, serial number, and a brief description of how the damage occurred ready for your damage report.
Am I allowed to have the school iPad repaired privately?
That is covered by your school's usage agreement – if in doubt, ask them. Some schools have their own requirements for repairs, while others leave it up to the parents. It is best to clarify this before you place an order.

What happens to my data and the school profile (MDM)?
We do not remove or bypass the school profile. For a pure hardware repair, such as a display or battery replacement, your data and the school profile will remain on the device. We only use your device passcode to test the iPad before and after the repair. If there is a software issue, we will clarify this with you beforehand. We still recommend making a backup.
