If your iPad no longer charges, the cable, adapter, port, battery or other components may be involved. This symptom does not prove that either the battery or charging port is faulty. Check simple causes first and describe when the issue occurs.

Bulging housing, lifting display, unusual heat or liquid damage: Stop charging and using the device. Do not open it yourself. Contact the workshop before transporting or shipping it.

What to check first

Try another undamaged, compatible cable and adapter and a working wall socket.
Allow a very cold or hot device to return to normal ambient temperature.
Try restarting it using Apple’s instructions for your iPad model.

Look at the port without probing it

Disconnect the cable and look for visible debris or bent contacts. Do not force the plug. Do not use compressed air or insert tools into the port. Apple’s iPad cleaning guidance advises against compressed air. Have trapped debris or damaged contacts assessed by a professional.

Which observations help the workshop?

Charging in one cable position only: Have the port and cable connection checked.
Short runtime or shutdowns: Have the battery and other possible causes checked.
No response with other accessories: Inspection makes sense; it does not automatically mean a particular part needs replacement.
